About RedStarKGB

RedStarKGB was formed in the latter half of 2002 as a way for Ian Corey and Chris Harring to make movies that they enjoyed. There was little help from outside friends until their movie took second place in the 2003 CAmm Slamm. Since then, the two have become roommates and work exclusively as a team. Recent additions include Joel Haddock, bringing his tremendous writing talent, and Matthew Allthetime with his score-writing ability and million-dollar recording studio.

Chris Harring

chris picture Chris Harring "studied" "film" at Boston University, where he refined his grating artistic elitism. A trained screenwriter (which means nothing) and film theoretician (which means even less), Harring co-founded RedstarKGB and occupies key positions such as writing, shooting video and dismissing concepts as "too gaggy." He devotes the time between Netflix arrivals to developing short films for future production. Clever and diplomatic, he nonetheless lacks the broad, varied skill sets possessed by his comrades. Indeed, there would be no reason to put up with him if he didn't own a Canon XL2.

Ian Corey

ian picture Ian Corey is trained as a sound engineer but was able to use his technical abilities to aid Chris with editing and sound for his movies. At his most ignorant, he will tell you that he "doesn't follow popular film directors' work," preferring to use his instict to create something he likes instead of a method that has already proved successful. At his most earnest he will laud his background as a musician, artist, photographer and cook.

Matthew Allthetime

matthew picture Matthew was born into this world both ambitious and aimless. He has languished in the smoldering embers of artistic nothingness for a time, and has emerged, finally, to conquer the world. After acquiring his name through an instance of mistaken identity, Matthew was heard to say that he felt more free and optimistic having a name that was not his own. He has been known to ink a tune on occasion, and his debut record, The Endless View of Deepspace, is currently in production. His recipe for Norman Mussels won an award in Fells Point last winter.

Joel Haddock

joel picture Dear Viewer,
The art of film is not something that can be learned, or even understood for that matter. One must be born with the knowledge, passed down from some genetic memory that few posses, and fewer still can ever master. I do not make films: I make meaning. Someday perhaps you will be able to fathom the truth in that, and then perhaps we can talk.
